Die perfekte Textanalyse im Fach Englisch. Gliederung, nützliche Vokabeln (Useful Phrases) und der genaue Aufbau einer Analyse verständlich erklärt.
Structure of an English Text Analysis
An analysis in English consists of three parts: **Introduction**, **Body** (Analysis), and **Conclusion**. Your analysis should examine the author's argument, their choice of words, and stylistic devices.
1. Introduction
The introduction contains all the basic information about the text. Use the following TATTE formula:
- Title
- Author
- Type of text (e.g. speech, article, essay)
- Theme / Main idea
- Export date / Year of publication
Useful Phrase: "The article 'Global Warming' written by John Doe and published in the New York Times in 2024 deals with the critical impact of climate change on coastal cities."
2. Body (The Analysis)
Focus on how the author tries to persuade the reader. You should analyze three main aspects:
- Line of Argumentation: How does the author build up their arguments? Are they using logical facts or emotional appeals?
- Choice of Language: Look for specific adjectives, nouns, and verbs. Is the tone positive, critical, sarcastic, or emotional?
- Stylistic Devices: Identify rhetorical figures (e.g., metaphors, symbols, repetitions) and explain their effect.
Useful Phrases for the Body Part
- "The author points out that..." (Der Autor weist darauf hin, dass...)
- "By using the metaphor of..., the author illustrates..." (Durch die Verwendung der Metapher... veranschaulicht der Autor...)
- "The tone of the speech can be described as..." (Der Ton der Rede kann beschrieben werden als...)
- "This stylistic device underlines the fact that..." (Dieses Stilmittel unterstreicht die Tatsache, dass...)
Häufig gestellte Fragen (FAQ)
Q:What is the difference between summarising and analysing?

Q:What is an alliteration in English?
The repetition of the same consonant sound at the beginning of adjacent words. Example: 'Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers'.
